How Ascent Physique handles your data
By default, your data stays on your device. Ascent Physique has no account or login. Your profile name, workouts, nutrition logs, body-weight history, goals, and progress photos are stored locally on your device. They are not sent to us or anyone else — except as described below, and only when you choose to use an AI feature.
AI-powered features (optional)
Some optional features use AI to interpret your input. Only when you use one of them, the relevant data is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our processing service (Cloudflare Workers), which forwards it to Google's Gemini AI to generate a result and return it to your device:

We do not send your name, email, contact details, or any account identifier with these requests — the app has no account, and the requests are not linked to your identity. They are processed to produce your result, not to build a profile of you.
Google states that API prompts and responses on this service are not used to train its models.
Barcode lookups
When you scan a packaged-food barcode, the barcode number (not personal data) is sent to Open Food Facts to look up nutrition information.
Photos
Progress photos and any food photos you attach are stored on your device. A food photo is transmitted only if you use the photo meal-scan feature, and only to produce that estimate.

Data retention
We do not operate user accounts or a personal-data database. Our relay does not store the content of AI requests; it keeps only transient operational data (timestamps, error codes, and an anonymous daily request counter for reliability and abuse prevention). Google and Cloudflare retain data under their own policies above.
Your choices
The entire core app works without AI features. You can delete all data the app has stored at any time with the app's delete all data option in settings; because your data lives on your device, deleting the app also removes it.
Website — free guide signup
If you request the free guide on our website, the email address you enter is collected through Kit (our email provider) and used to share the guide and occasional updates about the app. It is never sold or shared beyond that, and every email includes an unsubscribe option. The app itself never collects your email — this applies to the website form only.
Children
Ascent Physique is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from under-18s. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
